- уведомление о проведении арбитража. В зависимости от регламента, в соответствии с которым осуществляется разбирательство, направляется ответчику (ответчикам) непосредственно истцом (см., напр., ст. 3 Арбитражного регламента ЮНСИТРАЛ, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules) или институциональным арбитражным органом (arbitral institution) (см., напр., пар. 15 и 16 Регламента МКАС 2006 г.). Отказавшаяся от участия в арбитраже получившая уведомление сторона рискует тем, что против нее будет вынесено default award. Изменяя свой адрес, стороны обязаны извещать об этом своих контрагентов, с которыми они заключили арбитражные соглашения (arbitration agreement), иначе сообщения, посланные по последнему известному контрагенту адресу, будут считаться доставленными надлежащим образом, см. ст. 3 Закона о МКА.
